Organized by V Serve Canada | Presented by TD | In Partnership with the Government of Ontario | In Association with the Living with Wellness Arts Festival

This fall, V Serve Canada invites you to take part in Mental Health for Older Adults, a 12-week workshop series dedicated to empowering seniors and strengthening community connections. From October 2 to December 18, 2025, seniors will gather at the Meadowvale Community Centre for a program that blends wellness, learning, and creativity - all while building bridges between generations.

Why Senior Mental Health Matters

As we age, mental health becomes just as important as physical health. Older adults may face challenges such as loneliness, reduced mobility, or increased risk of falls, all of which can affect overall well-being. Programs like this create safe and supportive spaces where seniors can stay active, engaged, and socially connected.

What the Program Offers

The series brings together 16 workshops, thoughtfully designed to nurture both mind and body:

  • 8 Intergenerational Workshops – These sessions bring seniors and youth together through storytelling, art, and creative projects. By sharing experiences across generations, participants gain fresh perspectives, reduce isolation, and strengthen community bonds.
  • 4 Fitness Workshops – Led by skilled facilitators, these gentle exercise sessions focus on balance, flexibility, and mobility. They are designed to be safe, enjoyable, and adaptable for all fitness levels, encouraging joyful movement and confidence in daily life.
  • 4 Evidence-Based Workshops – Covering essential topics such as mental health, fall prevention, and healthy aging, these sessions provide practical, research-backed tools that seniors can use every day to maintain independence and wellness.

Together, these workshops provide a holistic approach to senior well-being - promoting physical health, mental resilience, and lifelong learning.

Strengthening Community Partnerships

This initiative would not be possible without the support of TD, the Government of Ontario, and the Living with Wellness Arts Festival. Their collaboration reflects a shared commitment to building stronger, healthier communities where seniors feel valued and supported.

Looking Ahead

With 350 seniors expected to participate, the Mental Health for Older Adults series represents more than just a set of workshops - it’s an opportunity to foster connection, inspire growth, and celebrate the richness of intergenerational learning.

📍 Location: Meadowvale Community Centre, 6655 Glen Erin Dr, Mississauga, ON L5N 3L4
